Why I have it: I wanted an "omg, cute" icon, and I have a big soft spot for pengeys. They're so cute. Somehow those two things morphed into this little fellow, who is conquering the world with his adorableness.

Image info: A screen capture from the Iron Man movie. I think this is in the middle of the midair chase scene, where Tony just got shot down by enemy fire from a tank, exploded the tank in question, and is now being pursued by the USAF. Poor Tony. Edited in paint.net (I think I tweaked the light flare or something).
Why I have it: I love love love this shot. The expression on the suit's face is- to me- planted exactly between curiosity and badassery. He might talk to you; on the other hand, he might just set his repulsors to "Charbroil" and let fly. I know we're going to have fun finding out.

crimsonquills ' list of slashy Tony/Steve moments. (70 and counting, baby!) Heavily edited in paint.net to give blue tones and additional blur.
Why I have it: In the main Marvel universe, Steve is dead, but he still plays a very active role in this fandom and (canonically) in Tony's life. I wanted something that would acknowledge both his presence and his loss. Blue tones came from his "ghost" appearance in one of the Thor comics, where he-or his ghost- wore a blue cape with a white star on the chest; I added the blur to make him appear more otherworldly. (In passing, this is one of my favorite icons. I'm really happy with how it turned out.)

Image info: From www.davidmorgan.co.uk, the website of a group of bird banders in northwest England. This particular image is a shot of the wing of a Greenfinch, which is a small seed-eating bird. Edited in paint.net for color and (I believe) a little blur.
Why I have it: I love science and nature- both the fiddly technical parts and the intuitive elegant parts. So I like birds, particularly bird wings- they're a great combination of a technical marvel and a thing of beauty.
