Thor: Reactions, No Spoilers
May. 8th, 2011 07:41 pmHonestly, I could fill the rest of this entry with "ooh Heimdall oooh", because, well.
anyhow. Lots of fun, lovely cinematography- I really like how they did the Bifrost bridge- and Jane Foster is the butt-kicking scientist I want to be someday. Loved Sif and the Warriors Three, I honestly could have watched them goof around for another two hours straight. Heimdall- the character is just perfect, and I can't imagine anyone other than Idris Elba in that part now. Same with Tom Hiddleston and Loki, he is Loki now for me, and a surprisingly sympathetic one at that. I would have liked to see a little more about how Thor had his turnaround, I feel like his transition from cocky bastard to peace warrior swung just a hair too fast. Will be seeing it again next week, we'll have to see if things shake down differently on a second viewing.

oooh Heimdall

Date: 2011-05-09 01:26 pm (UTC)I think it was just a very, very full movie is the problem. They cut it down to bare bones, and it was still two full hours. :\ I would have liked to have an extra 15 or 30 minutes to see Thor's arc fleshed a bit, but que sera sera. We got a pretty good cut of meat as it is.

Date: 2011-05-09 11:19 pm (UTC)Yes yes yes, totally concur. There was so much awesome but I wanted MORE awesome. I guess we'll just have to wait for the sequel. In the meantime, I'm going to root for fanfic where Sif and the Warriors Three go on a road trip and Heimdall is their disapproving cosmic GPS.
